The past couple days I’ve created this relaxing scene of Xavian with his friends enjoying the sunset. At first, the picture was only going to have Xavian in it. However, I decided to add more characters in the background to create more depth and to showcase Xavian’s friends interacting with each other.
In the background, Rita is chasing Duke for stealing one of her earrings. Duke is known to play pranks on people but especially Rita because of her short temper. Nia is seen laying in the tree behind Xavian because he snores too loud for her and she likes quiet.
Below are the many steps it took to reach this product.
Step 5 (This will be when the picture is ready for print)
Here is some more character art drawing. Still a WIP.
I’m on a roll now. More art, more art. Yes, these pages have been colored already I’ll show the coloring later this month.
Here some more sequential art from Chapter 1. Slowly but surely I’ll be releasing more artwork.
I know it’s been like forever since I last posted anything here. I’m still alive. I haven’t quit working on Xavian. In fact, it has been the exact opposite. I’ve been working none stop and will be uploading a lot of new material this coming summer. But in the mean time here is some sequential art from Chapter one.
Popular anime shows like Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto, or Pokemon have many things in common but what we all remember from them were their cool, catchy opening intros. Without these intros many of the popular animes from our childhood may never have been popular. The intro is usually composed of three elements: a catchy theme song, unique characters, and flashy animation. These elements are essential to attracting in new people to view the shows.
The past three months, I’ve been working on an animated video to bring my characters from my graphic novel to life. This animation revolves around the three main characters, Xavian, Boritta, and Nesia. The three main characters are anthropomorphic creatures; Xavian is a lion, Boritta is a female crocodile, and Nesia is an elephant. Each character has their own unique supernatural abilities. The characters have their own separate introduction in the opening intro that I created using Adobe Flash and Adobe Premier Pro. This animation combines the three elements to create a thirty-second animated intro for my graphic novel.
While I’ve very satisfied with the work I’m done. I don’t consider this video as complete. I’m going to add more scenes to the animation. I plan to submit the final version to future galleries and Film/Video competitions and events later this year. Let me know what you all think!
Xavian will be featured in the “CIRCA: Digital Art Exhibit” at the NEST Arts Factory Gallery in Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport CT. The exhibition will last from April 9th – May 6th, 2016. The opening reception will be on Saturday, April 9, from 2pm to 4pm. The following pieces from Xavian will be featured in the gallery:
More updates will be coming later this week!!
For the past three months I’ve been working on a thirty-second animated preview for Xavian. My goal is to have the animation displayed alongside my other works at future galleries. This will be great to draw in new fans and potential employers who need an illustrator/animator. I’m very proud of the job that I’ve done even though this was my first every using Adobe Flash. I’m positive all of my fans will be blown away. The completed animation will be released later this week. Throughout this week I’ll be sharing screenshots of what I’ve been working on these past months.
Here is Part 2 of the big updates I promised you all. Xavian will be featured in the “COMIC ART: Fantasy & Imagination Exhibition” at Safe Harbors Ann Street Gallery in Newburg, New York. The exhibition will last from March 12 – May 7th, 2016. More updates will be coming later this week!!
