Thoth and the Tiger Highlights

Here are the last touches to Thoth and the Tiger. I believe I’m done with this poster. This was a bit of challenge compared to the last poster. Trying to get the bright colors to look good on the clouds at the very top. The perspective and keep it correct posed a challenge. The aura or glow around the lightning was very tricky because Adobe Illustrator kept crashing on me, again. I like the way the shadows and lighting made this piece pop out. Let me know what you think.

Thoth & the Tiger Inking

Here is the inking for the 7th poster. Thoth and the Tiger. The inking is done by my friend, Alvarex. I love the inking he did with clouds and lightning. He brought out the details in the cumulonimbus clouds that I originally drew. I’ll do another live stream coloring later on this week. Stay tuned and let me know what you think.

Thoth & the Tiger Drawing

This weekend was very good in the terms of drawing new posters. I wasn’t planning on drawing this weekend but I guess that all changed. Here is the 7th poster, Thoth and the Tiger.
I got my influence for this poster from the Japanese folktale of Raijin. Raijin is a creature who comes down from the sky in a bolt of lightning, he’s usually depicted as a demon spirit but I made him into a Tiger.
The bird in the lower left-hand corner is Thoth. Thoth is a mix between the Japanese Crane and the Egyptian Ibis. The Crane is usually referred to longevity, and the Ibis is known for its wisdom and knowledge so I just joined those two together to create Thoth.
