Our first ever live streaming will be tonight on YouTube at 11PM EST/10 PM CST / 8PM EST. The stream will be pretty long. I’m expecting it will take around 3-5 hours. Also for some clarification my goal is to complete the Phoenix not the entire poster. You can find me on YouTube at: XavianGubora or youtube.com/c/xaviangubora
Hope to see you all tonight for our first ever live streaming.
I would like to welcome to the Xavian crew, Jesse “Cadre” Hansen. After talking with some fans, to take Xavian to the next level I need to have an inkier who can clearly illustrate my drawings and make it pop off the page. That’s why Jesse will be inking for the first chapter. I have nothing but respect and admiration for his work.
Inking whether it be traditional or digital has always been a struggle for me. I could never get the same results done for inking like my pencil drawings. Next to drawing the human anatomy, inking is the weakest part of my drawing ability. I’m not saying it’s terrible, it’s just not up to par for what I want for Xavian.
So to conclude, I will still be doing the coloring and pencil work for Xavian. Jesse will be doing the inking for me.

It has almost been two years since I’ve started drawing Xavian. I have taken many studio classes that have helped me improve my drawings over the past two years. We’re going to start 2015 with a bang. Here is an example of the improvements I’ve made. FYI both of these were created in Adobe illustrator.
The creator of Xavian was recently interviewed by Rachel Sinclair from Al.com. He talks about his future goals for Xavian and during his study abroad trip in Japan. Joel goes more in dept at the process of completing the written story Xavian. To find out more check out the link:
Hello fans, in case you haven’t heard. Xavian will be in Tokyo,Japan from August 25th, 2014 through August 26th, 2015. This is great opportunity for Xavian to be published overseas in Japan, where the manga market is now thriving. We’ll continue to update you on any important news about publication of Xavian while in Japan. We’ll continue to post pages and character information while in Japan so nothing will change. With your donation you can help Joel reach his goal of $8000 goal and help him experience this exciting opportunity in Japan this year. What’s up viewers, if you’re viewing this post then you have stumbled upon the official blog for my upcoming graphic novel Xavian. If you like stories where the villain wins and alien takeovers then you come to the right place. For my story I decided to stay away from the cliche of an alien race invading a planet and the native planet finding a way to defeat them. Instead I created my story where the species on native planet make contact with an alien race and the alien race takes over the planet and create an empire. Xavian’s story is very dark, it’s catered for more mature audience with its war-like features and blood and gore elements. For this graphic novel I will showcase my artistic abilities with the background scenes, facial details, blood and gore elements and digital coloring. I will be using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Manga Studio for this graphic novel. I am an amateur comic artist and a college student. You’ll notice that my drawings will get more details the more I draw the story out. I’m still learning more about being a comic book artist so you’ll see my drawings develop as I continue to write Xavian.
