The past couple days I’ve created this relaxing scene of Xavian with his friends enjoying the sunset. At first, the picture was only going to have Xavian in it. However, I decided to add more characters in the background to create more depth and to showcase Xavian’s friends interacting with each other.
In the background, Rita is chasing Duke for stealing one of her earrings. Duke is known to play pranks on people but especially Rita because of her short temper. Nia is seen laying in the tree behind Xavian because he snores too loud for her and she likes quiet.
Below are the many steps it took to reach this product.
Step 5 (This will be when the picture is ready for print)
Here is some more character art drawing. Still a WIP.
It’s been a boring day for me but I’m going to give you all an update of Xavian. Who are the main characters in Xavian? There are five main characters, but all of them won’t appear in the first chapter. Here is the character list, let me know what you think:
I decided to do a quick coloring of my recent Xavian coloring. Let me know what you think of this. If you guys really like this I’ll continue to color this. Of course after I finish the last two posters.
Here is Day 3 of coloring Nesia. I didn’t do a live stream last night because I was lazy (don’t judge me). I added in a door light to create a heavy contrast from light to dark. In the previous version, not having the door light made it harder for me to get the colors right on Nesia and the background.
With the door light I was able to change the color scheme of Nesia and his mouse around. It’s now less realistic but matches the style of Xavian and the rest of the posters. I personally like the outfit on Nesia than the previous versions of him over the years. He’s more relax and his clothes matches him. I still have some work to do on it, but it’s coming along well. I would say I’m 75% done with this one. Let me know what you think.
Here is the beginning line art of Marvis and the Dragon. I forgot to show you all this before I started coloring. Once again I got to thank ALVAREX for the inking. He has brought out my artwork to a whole new level. My pencil drawings were always good but the inking took it to a new level and I just have to thank him.
The hardest part when I was penciling this piece was the dragon itself. I love drawing dragons, but I had to do so much research on how Chinese Dragons were depicted in mythology. I wanted to keep it very close to its mythological counterpart. That’s one reason the dragon doesn’t have any arms. In most stories they’re drawn or talked about without arm. Probably because they are serpent creatures so it’s body is structured like serpents/snakes.
